Walking with you, even through wasteland, I am at peace.

Why do I forget how near you are, even in maelstrom?

How can I show my fellows that they are nearer rescue than they fear? Such deep, churning waters — yet how close the pier!

Let me better share your grace, Lord.

I cry out that I may be shown the path; I am already on it. You guide my feet whether I see the way or not.

I feel you are so far; it is I who left. Awaken me to the grace and guidance I already have.

I believe, Lord, help me in my unbelief.

These paths I walk day and night, how surprised I was to learn they are all within me. The outer way is straight and simple, yet following my own course, the way branches and branches again until I am turned around.

Let me follow a simpler path, Lord. Let me listen for your voice, and let it guide me.
