The Aftermath

Letter 4339

We spent great effort yesterday.

It is time, now, for repair, for replenishment of what is spent, for restoration.

Tools have been laid down; now is time to put them away.

Rest can be work, too.

Consider:

Yesterday’s work took all of me. Can I bring all of myself to today’s?

❖ “Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.” — Anne Lamott

❖ “Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer’s day, listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.” — John Lubbock

❖ “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
