Through Me

And through others.

On morning rounds, I greet others, and they me. How could they know I am your channel, Lord? What I speak to them are not my words but theirs.

If something I say moves a heart, which unclenches a fist, and opens a space for peace — it was not what I said but what you did through me.

If something I hear moves my heart, and causes me to act — it is not my neighbor but you though them.

Let me act and go with care, Lord, on this delicate mission. Every word important. Every act a masterpiece.

You work through us, to and for each other. Are we not all of God, then?

Consider:

How can I remember that I am yours?

Up to the Task

So weak, so strong.

My arms, my body, are so weak in comparison to what must be done. Looking at the earth that must be shifted, I do not feel up to the task.

If it be your will, Lord, it will happen. Let me be in alignment with you, that I may have all the power needed.

Greater works shall I do, with you with me.

Consider:

Can I surrender and accept your power?

Only You

And no other.

Let me meet you, Lord.

Let me meet you on the mountain.

Let me meet you in the forest.

On the meadow.

In the market square.

Alone in my room, gathered with fellows, while walking, while sitting.

Only you bring me the relief I need.

Let me meet you.

Consider:

Can I make myself ready to meet you?

Birth

And purpose.

A new calf was born, and not without difficulty.

I am being reborn. Each day, over and again.

Also not without difficulty. I cling to what was familiar.

Let me embrace what you have in store for me, Lord. Let me become whom you would have me be.

Consider:

How can I become whom you would have me be?
