Letter 4373

The meadow by my house extends far before it reaches the forest edge.
I am carrying a load in my arms. The meadow is daunting. I know I will need to rest more than once. The high sun may tire me too.
The same meadow, as I set out for an easy walk. Its expanse is inviting, as walking it will bring me close to wildflowers and hares.
❖
With nothing in my arms, I am free to face the world.
Lord let me not carry unnecessary burdens.
Consider:
Can I let go what I do not need to carry?
Reading:
❖ “Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you.” — Thomas à Kempis
❖ “You have power over your mind—not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.” — Marcus Aurelius
❖ “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
