Awaken me, Lord, to your ongoing grace. Undeserved, unexpected.

Found resources when the store rooms go bare. The words to say in a challenging time. A closed door protecting me from my own choices.

Your love, expressed as rescue. Grant me eyes to see it.

Are you training me or testing me, O Lord? Grant me equanimity, let the fields of labor and of battle be the same. Upon each, let me seek to be useful.

There is no victory but that over self. Let me seek and do your will today.

I learned to seek you, spurred by woe.

You made yourself known, bit by bit.

Now, on desert days, I seek again. But, the gift: I recall having found you, and know you will allow it again. This lonely walk, it is just a piece of a longer path.

Sustain me, Lord, even on such a gray march.

Power flows in. Do I squander it?

On the shore, I build sandcastles that will wash away with the tide. In the forest, I lay traps that will be falsely sprung. On the plains, I build shelter that will be blown down by winds.

Lord, let me build permanence. The stone tower light, which will be a benefit to all travelers, is formed bit by bit. Grant me perseverance, day by day by day.
